Ball Cluster Pendant
I have been trying to find a way to make a circle like cluster pendant. I have succeeded and I am happy with the results. I started by cutting a piece of chain 4" long. Then I took 20 gauge wire cut into little 2" pieces. I then added different beads to each 2" piece of wire to make little charms. Once those were complete I added them to the 4" chain. Making sure that each chain link had at least two charms on it. I continued to add charms until the chain was full. After it was full of beads, I connected the bottom chain link to a jump ring which I connected to the top of the chain. This technique created a ball cluster look. I added one more jump ring to the top of the cluster so I could string it onto a faux leather cord. You can most certainly use any type of cord or chain you like. I chose the faux leather because it doesn't discolor. Unlike genuine leather that usually gets darker when the oils from your skin can change the color of the leather. This pendant is ideal for everyday wear. And can be made big or small. Color combo are endless. This necklace has a mixture of glass beads and gemstones. There are 6mm turquoise dyed howlite rounds and turquoise dyed howlite roundels. Mixing sizes and textures can give your ball cluster character. You can buy specific beads for this project or experiment with color and use left over beads that were not used in a previous project. This was another fun experiment for me, I had no idea this technique would work out. I am so excited to make more of these ball cluster pendants for friends and family. It will be my hot new thing for the spring and summer. I am planning to make lots more and soon.
