Four things I loved about Belize

It was my first time traveling out of the country. And I was pleased that I picked Belize City as my destination. I had so fun and I also had time to relax on my trip. So here are some of the highlights I would like to share.

  1. The first pleasant experience I had was with the people, everyone was genuinely kind and helpful. I felt like I was apart of there family. Always making sure I was happy and had everything I needed. They were welcoming and warm, and didn't treat you like a tourist.
  2. The Mayan ruin tour. Our tour was to Altun Ha, one of the many ruins in Belize. This was the most beautiful piece of history that I had ever seen my whole life. Upon arrival we were greeted by locals that were selling fruit. Eliot (my husband) tried the water coconut. Then we were escorted by our tour guide to these ancient massive structures. The experience was breath taking. The architecture was unbelievable. I was in aww of these huge temples that were still standing; hidden in the jungle. You have to experience it for yourself. I can not wait to go back and see more.
  3. The third attraction on my list were the beaches. The white sands and clear blue water was relaxing. I could have stayed on the beach for the entire trip. It was a dream like environment. Calm waters and singing birds soothed me like a massage. The scenery of the local sail boats docking and sailing the Caribbean was like looking at a post card.
  4. And last but not least was the cuisine. Every meal I ate was so delicious. From breakfast to dinner all of the ingredients were fresh and prepared to my liking. There was a particular meal that stands out to me the most. I was finishing up at the beach and wanted to grab a bite before we headed back to the other island. So we stopped at one of the bars right on the beach. I ordered a chicken fajita and a pina coloda. The chicken was so moist and tender. The seasoning was just right, not to spicy and not to salty. My vegetables were crisp and juicy. And to wash it all down I had a tall glass of pina coloda, which was so cold and refreshing.

I honestly had such a good time I didn't want to leave. So I am thinking maybe one day I will rent some property there and invest in a summer home.
